I am about to upgrade my S-TEC 60-2 to the DFC90 in a Cessna R182. One thing is not clear to me after reading the manual and all information I could find on the Avidyne website: what are the conditions for Control Wheel Steering (CWS)? Will it be available for my installation with the Aspen PDF and what is required? I assume it will require another button on the yoke in addition to the S-TEC supplied trim switch and AP disconnect. Is this button provided by the Avidyne installation kit?
Thanks! Achim

Hello Achim,
Yes CWS is available in the Aspen-DFC90 combo. Did you see the short section on its behavior in the DFC90 Pilot Guide online? If not, I can paste in some snippets from it in the next response. Yes, a separate button is required to activate it. We have a dedicated CWS button on both of our company DFC90-equipped C-182s. I'll verify it's not in the Avidyne Install Kit but also that it is called out on the install drawings. I'm on travel for the next few days so it may be a few days before I can respond again.
