I recently replaced my GNS530 with a new IFD540 but I relocated the GNS530 as a backup to update my panel.  My question is, can the 540 autofill with the 530 since it is a direct replacement?

Do you mean crossfil?  If so, the answer is no - the GNS530 and IFD540 do not share data.
