I am running ForeFlight and the IFD-100 app on the same iPad, hooked to a IFD-440 in remote wireless mode with a Stratux. If I switch from ForeFlight to IFD-100 everything works fine, but from the IFD to ForeFlight causes the ADSB data to not show up in ForeFlight. A force close of the IFD app fixes the issue in ForeFlight. Anyone else seen this?

+1. I typically only run one of those apps at any given time. I do suspect though that the issue is with Foreflight... I'm not sure Foreflight is going to sleep when its placed into the background.
That said, I have noticed that the IFD100 app will outright not sync/connect to my IFD if I happen to update the GPS database (nav + obst) earlier than the expiration date... once the date passes, the IFD100 will connect and sync with my IFD. Doug N208LG

interesting. I’ve found the IFD 100 will connect and sync with the panel mount as long as they both have the same database release-even if it is not effective yet. I use the IFD 540 as the source and have found that FF will NOT show traffic or NexRad if the IFD 100 is running in the background. When I quit the IFD 100, traffic and NEXRAD appear on FF again.

FF just released a new version that enables Apple’s multitasking feature. All well and good but to run two apps side by side both must support multitasking. What a boon that would be if only IFD100 did so.
But it doesn’t. Dare we hold out hope for it soon?

it will be coming in a future release but no timeframe was given. For now, you can place FF over the IFD100 but it makes FF so narrow it is hardly usable.

I just discovered that. How interesting, thanks.
FYI, the app “Windy” that many of us use for planning seems to do that too, not side by side.

It is handy for superimposing the FF approach plate onto the IFD100. It works great on the simulator. I'll have to see how it works in the plane.

Heck, I run 3 Ipads. A full size Ipad 7th gen foreflight, IDF100 on a second mini attached to the wind shield bow on the pilots side and a 3rd mini on the yoke that runs the Levil BOM application. Foreflight gets its ADSB and GPS information from BOM. The Levil application receives Angle of Attack, Airdata, magnetic campus, AHRS, and TRUE airspeed and altitude (not GPS derived). This information comes from a device (the BOM) that attaches under the wing. This device is also heated and is self powered by a turbine attached to the back of the unit. Can be legally installed on any aircraft including Certified aircraft under the FAA Norsee exemption. Must be signed off by an A&P, but does not require a 337 as it is considered a minor alteration. I run all three apps through the IDF100 using the Levil BOB as a server.
You have to see this thing work to believe it.

Could you explain this a bit more, especially the part about running the three apps through the IFD100? The IFD100 is an app itself, so I don't follow what you mean by running other apps through it.
