Oddity about the bezel lights. (Edit: AXP340)
With control set to "normal" ... "The display brightness/backlighting is controlled from the ambient light sensor and the bezel is controlled by the lighting bus." The panel dimmer runs the bezel buttons up/down OK. But, when the panel dimmer is set to OFF, the bezel lights go to MAX. I would prefer them to just go out. Any way to change that behavior? Can't see anything in the install manual. * Orest Edited by oskrypuch - 04 Dec 2014 at 10:20pm |

From p. 92 of the IFD540 installation manual ( did your installer try this configuration?):
Page 90 and 91 likely apply as well. Table 72: Lighting Bus Configuration To calibrate the dimming bus: 1. Select desired dimBus Type; 2. Select the dimBus Max Voltage field; 3. Push the right bezel knob; 4. Set the dimming bus to the maximum value (e.g. full clockwise position on dimming rheostat); 5. Push the right bezel knob to store; Repeat the process for the minimum value (use full counter-clockwise position of rheostat) |

Orest,
Which configuration from the AXP340 install manual did your installer program? Maybe try ambient light sensor only to eliminate effects from your dimming control(OFF position)? 6.1.16 Lighting Control

Yes, I thought we tried BUS ONLY, but it didn't change the behavior. Will try it again.
I suppose outdoors, the buttons won't seem too bright, even if we can't get them to dim out.

Orest, I played around with the lighting settings on both the IFD540 and the AXP340 and was able to get them to do what I wanted. I use a combination of the light sensor and the lighting rheostat in the aircraft and it works well. My AXP340 buttons are lighted in the day on full brightness, as are the AMX240 buttons and then dim at night.

If you have a chance, would love to see a screen shot of the service screens of your lighting setup, or if you wrote the values down ...
