Whenever I fire up the IFD 100 and connect it to my IFD440, when I go to the route tab on the FMS submenu, the left hand side soft keys (activate route, invert route, etc) all flash very fast and prevent any action from that menu such as opening a stored route, or activating a stored route. The rest of the app syncs quite quickly and works well. At first I thought this was a problem with my new 12.9" iPad Pro, but it recently started doing the same on my older iPad Air as well. Not sure what's up with this or what to do about it but it negates one of the big advantages of the app, namely preplanning a flight and loading it into the panel-mount IFD 440. Has anyone else seen this?

I think I remember seeing this reported here, can't recall the solution. I have not seen it myself.

Are you saying this happens every time with the same iPad? I've seen it occur after a 10.2.1 upgrade with existing routes in the iPad, but once the two have synced it goes away. Are you at 10.2.1 and the latest iPad app? Here's a procedure to make sure the two devices have consistent versions... Turn off the iPad. Then go through each stored route on the IFD, add a waypoint, and then go "Back To Route List". Then go back into that same route and delete that waypoint. If, for some reason, a stored route cannot be loaded, just delete it from the list. Once you've gone through that process for every route, then start the iPad and the buttons should stop flashing. You should only have to do that once, though, so if you do it and the problem reappears, let's get tech support involved. |

Thanks for the quick reply Steve--and on a weekend at that.
SW version is 10.2.1.0 on the iPad and it does happen every time....not sure what SW version is on the IFD440 but it was updated a couple of months ago. Syncing hasn't made it go away and it's happened the last several flights. I'll try what you suggest and go one better by simply deleting all the stored routes on both the IFD440 and iPad which should definitively put that possibility to rest.

I had A LOT of routes on my IFD and mine did this. I deleted all of them except what was really "essential" and the flashing stopped. k

I deleted all my flight plans on the IFDs and the iPad and it still flashes, so that didn't fix it, unfortunately.

Hey the problem is back on mine. I deleted ALL the stored routes. The soft key's still flash and the route tab is useless. I can create a flight plan on the FPL tab with the Ipad version 12.1.
IFD100 has 10.2.1 installed with all updates completed. It doesn't seem to be a bluetooth issue as all other intergrations appear normal.
