Has Avidyne done any testing of the IFD100 app on iOS 14 yet?

Not yet.  I'm sure if there's something egregious, we would have heard about it by now.  We'll do some regression testing soon, but I'm betting there will be nothing to report.

IOS 14.0.1, not seeing Electronics charts for download.
Avidyne App version 10.2.3
Jepp API version 5.0

Jeppesen says Electronic Charts are hosted on Amazon Web Server (AWS) separate from everything else.
Recommends to remove IFD100, and reload it, see if that helps.
Jepp is suggesting the App is the problem.

My wife is our Apple expert, will have here try when she gets home.
I have already updated USB stick to put today's Charts update in the plane.

I also asked Tom Harper, he asked Engineering, they said (and I added some comments below):

Hi Robert, I asked Engineering and here is the response:

An iPad update should not cause this message to show up, but it always does appear on the trainer. [Both Trainer and IFD100 take me to Jepp page to log in; when I do Electronic charts are not appearing in the list of things I can download - only Nav Data, Obstacles, MapData, and Terrain.]

The new chart cycle started today so this message will appear (starting today) if he hasn’t updated CHARTS. It’s not clear because he talks about nav data, but looks at charts. Maybe he did not update those? [Charts are not appearing for me to select]

Otherwise, It is unlikely but the date on his iPad may be wrong. [I checked, the date and time are correct for today.]

It is possible to delete a loaded database. Just select it and the download link changes to delete. Again I do not believe that this is his problem.

Tom

Ok, so now I can log in to Jeppesen to download databases. But Only MapData and Terrain.

If I poke around in the ipad menu, I got it to show me 10.2.8, but I can't figure out how to show it again.
I did set it to IFD540, and Wifi ADS-B support.
I no longer see Nav Data or Obstacles to download, and Electronic Charts still not there.

Is this a 14.0.1 issue or an Avidyne issue?

I'm not having any of those issues with iOS 14.0.1.

Did you uninstall / reinstall the IFD100 and if so, did you deactivate its Jeppesen link before doing so?

Ok, have 10.2.8 for sure now.
Jepp showing "No seats available" when I log on to upload databases.
This is really starting to piss me off.

Now Boeing has Site Maintenance in Progress. Maybe that's the heart of the issue.
Good thing it's going to be raining heavy tomorrow and I'm not flying.

It's been my experience that if you didn't deactivate the seat the IFD100 was using before reinstalling the IFD100, it will not recognize that there is an available seat to use after the reinstall. Normally, you can alternatively deactivate a seat by using the Jeppesen website; however, I just checked and it seems to be down for maintenance until Sunday.

I would think you should be able to call Jeppesen Tech Support at 800-732-2800 to release the now unused seat. Make sure that you have your Jeppesen customer number available.

Ok, fresh download of 10.2.8 this morning.
Logged into Jeppesen, shows all 5 items:
Navdata, cycle 2011, 9894KB, downloaded ok
Obstacles, cycle 2011, 1095K, downloaded ok
Mapdata, cycle 10-2, 74763 KB, downloaded ok
Terrain, NAmerica, cycle 15T1, 274502 KB, downloaded ok

Electronic Chart Services Avidyne Bundle, Cycle 21-2020, 211353 KB
Status on bottom shows Requesting Download, then Unexpected amount of data.
Changing to settings, last 2 lines are:
2020-10-17 13:45:06 +0000: Requesting Download... AVDusa43 045AP09223_TCL_202021.1_202021.1.zip
2020-10-17 13:45:10 +0000 Downloading... Unexpected amount of data 397 expected 216426404

So is that saying the database is screwed up on the Jepp side?
211353KB * 1024 byte/KB =  216425472 bytes

Anyone else having this problem?

Occasionally that happens with my IFD100 Jeppesen downloads (not just charts)...just try to download the charts again through the IFD100. It is possible that it may take a few more tries; in my experience it will eventually work.

With a new Login each time? I just tried 10 times on same login, same thing every time. At least it bombs out quick.

When this happens, I generally use the same login to restart the download.

My last suggestion would be to make sure the IFD100 app is closed all the way and perform a hard reset of your iPad, then try it a few more times. The most trouble I had with a Jeppesen IFD100 download was on an first generation iPad mini using a previous IFD100 release roughly three years ago. I know it took at least as many tries as you have into this one; I chalked most of the problem up to the really slow hotel wifi I was using at the time.

Like I wrote earlier, my experience is that this issue still occasionally occurs and I am able to remedy it by restarting the download (maybe a few times) without having to exit / re-login to the Jeppesen download screen.

That seemed to work. Slid the IFD100 off the screen to close it. Then powered down, waited 30 seconds, powered back up, and Voila, the Electronic Charts finally downloaded.
