Customers have reported certain frequencies that produce noise over the COM radios. We know of an issue with certain frequencies around 120.0, but it sounds like some customers have observed excessive noise on other frequencies. I would like this forum topic to be a repository for any COM-related issues you observe while flying R9. Please describe the problem and include the ATC facility and frequency.
I appreciate any feedback you can provide. There is one known issue with the radios that will be addressed in Release 9.1. When the signal power changes dramatically during the course of a transmission, it is possible for the auto squelch control to truncate the transmission. I have observed this when turning downwind to base and base to final with certain ATC facilities. I have also observed it when going missed and banking directly over the control tower. The intermediate fix is to turn off squelch. |

I have posted this in the COPA forums as well, but I and several others apparantly have had issues with this. Mine specifically exists at 132.1 around KCRG. So far this is the only frequency I have detected the noise at. Hope this information is helpful.
