I know that Avidyne has removed the documentation guide for self exchange from a GNS430 to an IFD440 due to the complications associated with required ADSB signals.

In my case, I am about to self-exchange an IFD540 for an IFD550.  Is there any documentation or guidance associated with that?

I am confident in my abilities to physically perform the swap and to transfer over the user settings.  However, I "don't know what I don't know" and am concerned there may be some subtle "gotchas" I might blunder into, such as:
- Are there going to be any issues with changing the N-number on the new device from the old owner's plane to my N-number?
- Are there places on the MyAvidyne site where I need to update serial numbers associated with my account?  (Those data seems to have been wiped out earlier this year when the back-end for that system was replaced, so I think the answer there is "no" as I need to re-input those data myself anyway.)

Is it possible to get an updated copy of the IFD Installation manual for reference?

No gotchas that I know of.  You will need to get with tech support to change the tail number associated with the 550 so that your paid options are preserved.  You'll also need that if your Jepp subscription is tail-number based.  They can set you up with an IM as well.
