Avidyne,
Consider an option to define a radial/distance from a wpt. An example might be from an airport and one would put in the 360 radial, with a distance of 1 mile...... the 360 may represent the runway, define an obstacle area and the 1 mile would define a good circle area. It would show as a colored line and circle. We had this handy feature in the old (and new) Boeings that was very handy at times.

Done.
The initial release of the IFD540 currently has several means to define User Waypoints: 1. Lat/Lon 2. Bearing/Distance from another point (Place, Bearing, Distance) 3. Radial/Radial intersections

Steve, Understand, but my thought was to have a circle and radial drawn on the map. Perhaps this could be defined on your wpt page. I've sent you a picture to your email address, as I don't know how to attach a PDF here. Food for thought. Larry

Ahh, understood, now I get it. I'll add it to our heap of candidate features. Not sure if it'll make the cut yet but we'll evaluate it.
(and yes, attaching files to this forum isn't feasible yet - we're looking at ways to provide that capability.
