Avidyne is intensely interested in soliciting feedback from you, our customers, on which features you believe would make R9 even better.  Certain features, like Synthetic Vision, are already set for strategic or competitive reasons, but your feedback is crucial to helping us prioritize the many other features we are considering.  Please reply to this post with your ideas for the features you believe are most important to add.  Feel free to comment on features others have suggested.  Keep an eye on this forum, as we will collate this feedback and propose features for each new software release for your input.

Is the R9 panel compatible with heads up display systems, such as that found at http://www.virtualhud.com/VirtualHud/FAQ.aspx ?  The website also suggests the unit will display camera output, such as that from an EVS100.  Does the R9 have the equivalent of an extra VGA out port to facilitate depiction of camera output on both the panel and the prop?  This looks like a great device for keeping your eyes outside the plane in crowded VFR flight  so I'm curious to see whether you have any experience or rersearch considerfation of the option.

I saw the CO Guardian Twitter post. However, what I want is a combo setup on the headset something like a lemo plug that also connects up the SpO2 detector to a sensor in the headset. That way I would get constant SpO2 monitoring.

The MAP page now has Pan/Scan capability!  Yea!  But what's up with NOT being able to retrieve TAFs and METARs for airports under the cursor.  I know you can do this by manually inputting the airport code into the INFO page on FMS, but why can't we simply get the data displayed along with the airport and airspace info under the cursor?

When flying into a destination airport (in an area of "troubled" weather), it would sure be nice to pan/scan around the map (perhaps using the radar overlay as guidance) to help see the weather for potential alternates.
 
Having the little blue/green/yellow/red flags is not an adequate representation of weather conditions.  There is a big difference in blue flags when one is clear/variable and another is clear with crosswinds 30 gusting 45!
 
We finally got a cursor on our map!  Lets put it to good use!

Color TWxCell and Strikes display on my map page as was supported in R8.

It is not presently, but there are a number of people at Avidyne who believe that HUD capability is a must-do feature.  Of course, it won't come before EVS, digital autopilot, or SynViz, but it is something we are looking at for the future.

I agree, and we definitely will add this functionality in one of the next releases.  There are numerous ways in R9 to get METAR/TAF data.  One method is the one you noted, where you can input any airport into the FMS Info page.  Another key way, which I think is closer to the capability you want, is to press the NRST button on the keyboard.  First press gives you nearest airports to present position.  Press it again to get nearest airports to destination.  Then just scroll to the airport you want that has a METAR flag and press the "Info" select key.  It will take you to the Info page for that airport. 

We still will do it with the map cursor, though, because that just makes sense.

I understand, but the NRST function doesn't leverage the visual depiction of weather which is already displayed on the map.
 
Getting conditions at some airport which is "Bearing 138 at 23.6 NM" is not nearly as beneficial as being able to click a several on a selection of airport icons several miles in advance/behind  a band of thunderstorms (for example) when your actual destination is occluded and your searching for an alternate.  You don't get the benefit of visual weather guidance or input using the NRST function...
 
This is why I ***STILL*** fly with my tablet and Voyager/WxWorx in the cockpit on extended IFR trips...  Both PC Based apps provide graphical weather depction and point and click access to TAFs and METARs quite effortlessly.  Hopefully, when this feature gets added to R9, this will no longer be necessary...

I completely agree -- accessing METARs on the map will be a great feature.  Our goal is certainly that you will not feel the need to carry a tablet in the cockpit.
