For those dual 540 users out there, as nice as it is to have the scrollable data blocks on the right, there are now more spots available between the top and bottom than I really need (not a bad thing). I am just wondering if anyone has tried using the top box in full screen mode with no datablocks and having all their needed blocks on the bottom box which can be scrolled to?  Just curious because I often find myself going from full screen to datablock view and I'm wondering if this would be a better solution but then I wonder if the constant need to scroll on the other box might be annoying.

I find that with the dual 540s, most of the important fields I want to see can be configured across the top and along the left side.  I use my #1 IFD as a tactical box usually ranged at 15-20nm and the right datablocks show me waypoint information and the traffic symbol (needed to change the TAS box settings).  I'll expand as needed, but usually keep it in full MAP mode.  I find I have more than enough data blocks without scaling.  When the PFD4000 is released I'll be able to move most of my left and top datablocks over to it, allowing the IFD even more space.

I spoke with a gentleman at Oshkosh last summer and they do not anticipate the PFD 4000 to be ready prior to 2020.

That COULD be accelerated by NORSEE and/or external partnerships.
