Today is exactly 30 days past the original promised ship date for my AXP-340:

Purchased an AXP-340 through my dealer for a good price.  Ship date was set at 11/24/2014.  The IFD-540 came in the week before, so the timing was good.  540 got installed, and the AXP-340 didn't show up.  No heads up, no nuthin' from Avidyne, except maybe crickets.  Dealer called Avidyne - new ship date: Dec 15.  He put in a loaner KT-76A and sent me on my way.  So, now it's Christmas Eve, and still no AXP-340.  E-mailed Avidyne sales rep a few times in the last week or so.  The last communication was on Dec. 18 saying, "We are waiting for the shipment to come in the begining of the week. I will put you on a priority list." (that would be this week)  No further updates.  I sure wanted this all done by the holidays, but it wasn't meant to be.

Oh well... in a month or so, hopefully it will be all water under the bridge.  Then I can start the waiting game on the MLB100....

You hate the wait, but that makes it sweeter when it arrives!

Yes, small solace.

Similar story here.  Dropped my plane at the shop on Nov 15.  IFD540 arrived shortly after.  AXP340 supposed to arrive the following week...then the week after that...then the week after that...etc.

Supposedly, it's now on a truck and scheduled to arrive next Tuesday.  Finally.

I had envisioned getting my plane back prior to Christmas when I dropped it off.  Job completion is now tentatively expected to be mid-January.

Assuming the 340 shows up next week....

You should consider yourselves lucky. My AXP340 was ordered at the beginning of November and the latest word so far is to expect delivery mid to end-January. Given past performance, I'll just let it be a surprise when it arrives and hope that will be in time for installation before spring.

Yeah, that's why I installed a Trig TT31 with my IFD540. It's performing flawlessly and I much prefer the 'rotate-push' technique that Trig uses for code entry, compared to the multiple buttons used by the others.

Just an update to this thread:  My shop received my transponder on Dec. 26.  Due to scheduling conflicts, it won't get installed until late January.

DH82Flyer -- I shied away from the Trig for the very reason that you like it.  I decided I wanted the pushbuttons.  I guess it's a matter of personal preference.

I guess that is why they have 29 flavors of Ice Cream, too. I prefer the push buttons myself.

Mmm....Avidyne uses the same 'rotate-push' technique extensively on the IFD540!

That's why competition is so great... there is a choice of different strokes for different folks.

I'm also on the button side of the fence. With buttons, I can enter a code as I receive it on the radio, which I can't manage with the rotate-push technique. Also, I don't have room for everything in my centre stack and have to reach across the panel so entering a code needs to be quick. Note that when letter or digit input is required on the 540, it also reverts to buttons (a kb) rather than the rotate-push technique.

But as already mentioned, it's just a question of personal preference, and great for all of us that we have a choice.

Avidyne told me that the transponder shipped in November.  Avionics shop confirmed receipt.  Went to prep for the install of the transponder and the 540, and discovered that they had only received the install kit, no transponder.  So now we wait.  Aggravating.
