Was out doing approaches after 10.1 install. Had auto missed approach engaged. Everything worked great on all the GPS approaches with the miss displayed and navigating properly. On the ILS keep getting Manuel Sequencing Required on the miss. Understand that this would happen if there was a altitude required before any turns, but this ILS has no altitude constraints. Just curious if this was just this particular ILS (ILS 35 Ocala,FL KOCF) or is this common for all ILS's. By the way there was a soft key on left side to engage sequencing.

Looking at the graphic missed approach guidance, it appears to indicate a radial (OCF R-355) to 3000 feet, then to LEJKO for the hold. The textual instructions are to climb to 3000 via the OCF VORTAC R-355 to LEJKO and continue climb-in-hold to 3000. LEJKO is ten miles from the VOR. The VOR is at the airport. The missed approach point precedes the VOR by more than a mile. So you have something close to twelve miles to climb about 2700 feet. My little 172 can get from minimums at the missed approach point to 3000 feet before LEJKO, which means most airplanes can. I think this is a case of the unit asking you to tell it when you reached the altitude to sequence to the next part of the miss. David |

That is correct but wouldn't you want nav guidance on the 355 radial before you reach 3000? That's what I was trying to understand about why the 540 didn't follow the miss.

The first leg of the missed approach is almost always a course leg along the runway heading to 400ft AGL. The ILS (now 36) at KOCF is no exception. The first leg of the missed is "Fly course 004 to 489ft"

Ok agree with that. Are you saying that 540 will always go to "manual sequencing required" because of this? Because on the series of approaches all the GPS app went to full miss with no problems. So still confused about the 540 logic on the miss. Maybe it had something to do with intercepting the radial.
