Our club has a SR22 G2 with the original Garmin 430's and the Avidyne MFD/PFD. I have been successfully updating the NavData and Charts for over a year, with only the need to buy some old 2GB FAT formatted USB drives. I tried to update the latest CMAX update (September 30) and it goes right to the start up screen, which states an update is available. I have tried three different thumb drives and they all are totally ignored. Any idea as to why this is happening? Very frustrating.

Try to download the EMAX data on an empty formatted flash drive, if that fail, the USB port on the MFD may be the problem.

This happened to me when I changed my Jeppesen subscription (not just a renewal) and forgot to get a new CMax code.

I know this is an old thread, but this same situation happened to me today. My EX500 failed to load my charts; it loaded the Navdata just fine. I switched from US charts to Americas with my Jeppesen subscription. What do I need to do to fix this if it is a CMAX number issue?

I called Jeppesen, and my charts download no longer had a CMAX code associated with it. Jeppesen support walked me through for setting a new CMAX code. It should download fine now, but I will update in case it does not.
