Steve/Simpson,

I just want to confirm that the AXP-340 does not have TIS traffic out.  I guess I knew this going in, but was counting on the promise of ADS-B traffic from the MLB-100 by Sun-n-Fun. (fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on ME)  The King KT-74 and Trig TT-31 both have TIS traffic, and the 540 will display that traffic, right?  It would've been nice to have the TIS to hold me over for the next 6 months while waiting on the ADS-B traffic from the MLB-100.  So, why did I buy the AXP-340?

Or maybe the TIS traffic is there as an undocumented feature? Are pins E and F by chance the same as the TT-31 (i.e. ARINC TIS-B out)?

I contacted Trig engineers directly over in England thinking, like you, the pins were just 'removed' from the manual and the hardware was still in there, but it is not. So "no" according to the manufacturer Trig the AXP-340 will not output TIS-A traffic. IIRC it lacks ARINC429.

In fact the manual was a very rough cut/paste from the TT-31 and actually references TIS-A in a couple spots b/c it was wasn't completely sanitized.

FWIW, the Trig guys were really nice, but they leave around 4pm.

Thanks for the reply.

I guess I'm still wondering why Avidyne charges $1000 more for their version of the Trig box, and why they dropped some functionality.  I did get a decent price on mine - roughly what I would've paid for a KT-74 or TT-31, but without the TIS-A, I'm wondering where the value is.  I realize that 6 months down the road I won't need the TIS-A (hopefully), but I'm still a little mad at myself.

Yeah, I went from a GTX330 which was working with the IFD540, but I got a second 540 with a 340 to check my 2020 requirements box.

I thought by now it'd all be done and TIS-B would be on my screens.

So - 6 months.

Steve what's the over/under timeframe?  We just as well should make this interesting why we wait. :)

Correct, the AXP-340 does not have TIS traffic. The TT-31 and KT-74 might work but it hasn't been tested. For instance, the GTX330ES will show TIS-A on the IFD540

It was our intent to have traffic and weather (from the MLB100) displayed on the IFD540 in 10.1. As Jake posted in the 10.1 update:

Presumably because you wanted to meet the 2020 mandate for ADS-B Out? Right now, its the only STC'd ADS-B OUT option for the IFD540.
